Craigslist no longer allowing links in ads?

craigslist no longer support linking Craigslist no loner supporting hyper links? I believe they started doing this just a week ago and I have notice that ads I use to post regularly are getting less clicks. If you have not noticed, visitors now have to copy and paste links in ads to visit websites. Ironically, I noticed that in the paid ads sections, links are still intact. So this got me thinking. Is Craigslist trying to figure out a way to get money out of people now? or is this an attempt to prevent people from spamming links in multiple cities. If this is the case, I personally doubt this will stop or slow down spammers or scammers.

When I started to post ads on Craigslist, I was surprised how easy and fun it was. The traffic I got was instant. I didn’t need to learn SEO or buy traffic. I could just simply post an Ad and the leads would just flow in. It didn’t matter whatever I was selling or promoting, I got loads of free traffic which turn into leads or sales. However, lately it has become more of a headache
to post anything on the site. You have competition that wants to flag peoples ads while you have spammers, scammers breaking and exploiting everything just to turn a buck. The way things are trending, I am not sure how long will continue to post ads or if I can. What started out as fun to make extra cash, has simply turn into a tiresome job that’s starting produce minimal results.

To be fair, they basically provide this service for free except for some of the larger states which they charge a fee, but the hassle of posting ads that stick or stand out is becoming a job itself. I know Craigslist won’t care if one less person is posting because they got thousands more that start posting each day on their site. I just hope that hyper links is not the start of Craigslist becoming a paid site that was ruined by a few scammers, flaggers, and spammers. What are your thoughts of hyperlinks being removed from free categories?
