Man Receives Packages of Marijuana Via USPS Ready To Be Used!

Man Receives Packages of Marijuana Via USPS Ready To Be Used! A Seattle man received two packages of marijuana in less than 30 days. The packages was composed of half an ounce of plastic-wrapped pot. The guy was so surprised that he took the package to the police.

About 30 days earlier he got the first package and just threw it in the garbage. However, when he got the new package, he decided to take this one to the police to find out what was going on.

Despite new legalization laws in certain states, shipping drugs via U.S. Postal Service is still illegal. In fact, the federal government labels marijuana as an illegal narcotic.

Police said the marijuana mailed to the man’s house was labeled “return to sender, insufficient postage”. However it had been addressed to a business in Georgia but listed the man’s home as the return address.

“Federally marijuana is still considered a crime, so you absolutely cannot under any circumstance send marijuana through the mail,” said Seattle police spokeswoman Detective Renee Witt.

The officer said an incident occurred similar to this last year. A man brought pot that had been sent to his address and listed as the sender with the same kind of wording “insufficient postage”.

However, Witt said these two incidents do not appear to signal a problem in regards of mailing pot from Washington state to other states where possession of marijuana is illegal.

“We don’t see this very often,” she said. “For us it’s not something we’re worried about.”

Keep in mind that Washington and Colorado became the first U.S. states to legalize recreational pot in 2012.
